One of my cousins is about to graduate next year, and she’s hunting for a job in Shanghai. Things went well, so my dad said to her, ‘you lucky girl’.
This reminds me of my personal experience over the past two years. My aunt spoke in the same way every time I got something I wanted, RA, intern, job, whatever. Well, I know I was not in bad luck, but haven’t you ever thought that I deserved it?
I believe everything has MORE THAN ONE reason. Luck is definitely important. However, luck is hardly welcomed or grasped by those who have no insightful perspective or are not fully equipped.
Some people don’t like to be described as ‘hardworking’, looks like this word to some extent makes them nerd or jerk… To me, both perseverance and intelligence are essential. I sadly saw people either stay up every night yet tried vainly or waste their genius in their passing lives with nothing achieved.
Others may never give a comprehensive understanding of our own situations, our struggle, efforts we made, or how intelligent we are… However, we’d better know ourselves better, and give full play to our brilliance.
